Disable Gadgets Desktop / Sidebar in Windows 7

If you can not see the point of Gadgets in Windows 7 desktop or Sidebar of Windows Vista, you will be glad to know that can be deactivated with a simple configuration change.

If you are really new in Windows 7, gadgets are accessible via the context menu of the desktop, and can be downloaded to your desktop anywhere you want.

Note: If you are running Windows Vista, you can disable the sidebar there.

Disabling the sidebar / gadgets on the desktop of Windows 7

To disable it, simply open the Control Panel and type "features" into the search box. Find the link "Turn Windows features on or off" and open it.

Remove the check box for the Windows platform gadgets, click the OK button and restart the computer when it is done.

Now the topic was on the menu ...

And no more laying around the gadgets on the desktop.
