How to optimize Windows 7

From the best profit they can talk about how to optimize our Windows 7, is Red Button, a software tool developed specifically to optimize Windows, and while not especially created for Windows 7 (also supports XP and Vista) if that is capable of giving a good help in improving the performance of our system.

I got a great experience with this optimization software, so you see unlike the vast majority of maintenance programs paraWindows, Red Button does not have a graphical user interface very attractive but this does not lower power. It offers a multitude of options organized by tabs to properly configure the system, although its use is recommended for middle-level users expert.

Red Button The program offers more than 80 adjustments. Classified into three groups: 38 settings are related to the processor and RAM, 37 optimized / remove components of the hard drive and 22 to remove unnecessary files from the system.

With Red Button only need to choose what they want to apply and press the red button. Now then, as in the case of real red button, one must know what you're playing.

Easy Way to Install Windows 7

HOW TO INSTALL WINDOWS 7

1. REQUIREMENTS

1GHz 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64)
1 GB of RAM (32-bit) / 2 GB of RAM (64-bit) *
16 GB of available hard disk space (32-bit) / 20 GB of available hard disk space (64-bit)
Video card that supports DirectX 9

2. SUPPORTS YOUR INFORMATION

Before installing Windows 7 must support the information you want to keep if you go to install it on a disc you are currently using. You can save to a CD / DVD, a USB thumb drive or another hard disk and then restore it to your new Windows 7. A good choice for that procedure is to use Windows Easy Transfer.

3. REQUIRED ELEMENTS

To proceed with the installation we have to have the following:

The installation DVD of Windows 7 in any version

Original licensing of Windows 7 with its own serial number (we are not responsible for pirate facilities)

4. BIOS SETUP STARTING

4.1 We light our PC and press the corresponding key to access the BIOS **

4.2 After you have accessed our BIOS will see a screen very similar to the following:

Seek the option for booting (BOOT)

4.3 Inside the second screen to find something like this:

Among the options that appear look for First Boot Device (first boot drive) and choose CD / DVD drive to your computer boot from our DVD of Windows 7.

After this press the ESC key to exit and F10 to exit and save the appropriate changes. When asked whether to save the changes choose Yes (Y) and the computer restarts.

4.4 Just accept our DVD will introduce Windows 7 in the DVD reader and wait for it to recognize it.

4.5 We will see a text saying: "Press any key to boot from the CD or DVD" and just have to press any key.

4.6 Then we will see a progress bar showing the loading of Windows 7 files needed for installation:

4.7 Following screen appears Starting Windows (Starting Windows):

4.8 Following this we will see the splash screen of Windows 7 will be asked where language, Time and currency format and keyboard language. Spanish should be selected for the system language and keyboard. The Time and currency format should be set depending on the country of residence.

4.9 Having set the above parameters we can click Next and on the next screen press Install Now.

4.10 Then we will see a screen to inform us that the installation process has begun:

4.11 then we read the Microsoft license agreement and then accept it by ticking the appropriate box and clicking Next:

4.12 In the next screen will have two options, upgrade (Upgrade) and custom installation (Custom). We choose Custom to perform a clean install the operating system:

4.12 Then perhaps get the most complicated part of this process where more than one usually has problems, but not as complicated as it seems.

Here we see the partitions that are available, depending on each one. For example, they typically have at least 2 partitions pre-established. A reference to our primary partition (drive C) and the other to our secondary partition (partition D).

If this is our case for proceeding with the installation we stand in our Unit C and between the options we have we give click Format (recommended if installed on the C drive, but you can choose any disk or partition to install Windows 7 ).

When we already have the partition formatted, we focus on the drive where we will install Windows 7 and click Next.

4.13 In the next screen you will see that Windows 7 is installed on our PC and can only hope to receive some other indication by the wizard, as this part of the process is automatic.

4.14 Once finished copying files, installing features and updates will move to the next screen that will request a user name for the principal and a name for the system. Logically these data is personal and each one chooses that it sees fit.

4.15 In the screen that follows us for a password, which obviously is personal. The field may be left blank if you want to use a password to access the operating system.

4.16 In the next window, enter our serial number Windows 7 (may be left blank if not at hand).

Then we have introduced the serial number click Next

4.17 In the next screen choose as much as possible Use the recommended settings

4.18 Set the time and time zone depending on our geographical location

4.19 In this step you must choose what type of network uses depending on their location. If you are installing the system on a home computer home network is recommended (recommend choosing the type of network guided by the explanation of each is shown in the selection window)

4.20 We are almost done! then see the first Welcome screen its new operating system: Windows 7

And finally Windows 7 is installed:

As you may have noticed, installation is fairly simple. Just take some time and after some simple steps you will have installed Windows 7 on your computer.

Windows 7 Taskbar Iconizer

Today I bring a complement of Windows 7 Theme for XP that I had published earlier (although it works for other items of XP and Vista). Surely they noticed that the tabs were featuring the icon and application name as the XP ...

Here they left a patch for their tabs at the task bar icon appears only application (and in Windows 7) instead of the icon and name. Just run the. Exe and select the second option, then close and log on and see the changes in your taskbar.

Solutions for Cisco VPN Client and Windows 7 64 bit.

A few days ago I received four gigabytes of ram for my laptop from work, so take to upgrade my old Windows XP by the Seven who seems to have received good reviews. But the Seven of 32 bit (i386) uses only 3 of the 4 Gigabytes and greed made me try the 64 bit if she recognized and took advantage of all the RAM. Everything was going perfectly until you install the VPN to connect to my work. Cisco VPN Client does not run in 64 bit and it seems that kids have an interest in giving Cisco solution.

But calm is a solution or better solution.

Step by Step How to Optimize Performance in Windows 7

The new flagship operating system Microsoft has incorporated many specific optimizations, but to be based on Windows Vista, the possibility of a more personalized optimization becomes obvious. In some cases, improvements may be significant, while others may be almost imperceptible. This simply raises the difference between "performance" and "efficiency". We all want our computers to work as quickly as possible, but there are many cases where the fact that optimize the way Windows works under certain conditions, it is equally important. With a few adjustments and a few minutes of time, you may get a little more of both, and make a good Windows 7, something even better.

The default setting delivers a functional Windows 7, but could be improved with some adjustments

The first stop takes us to what is probably one of the best options in Windows 7, and is what allows you to disable system functions. In previous versions of Windows, we were obliged to use tools made by others to discourage and even remove some Windows applications. Although these programs meet their goal, their implementation is very inefficient, and to the case of any technical problem, the solution turns out to be, in most cases, the complete reinstallation of the operating system. In Windows 7, things are a little different. Part of the controversy revolved around the inability to remove Internet Explorer 8 operating system. Microsoft's browser uses several files considered "system" and its full erase could make a Windows installation into a useless pile of gigabytes without redress. However, by resorting to the section to disable functions, you can dispense with Internet Explorer 8, and other things like Media Player and Windows Media Center. In the list there are several things that can be turned off, starting with the Tablet PC components (unless you own one), the platform Gadgets (remain the same as in Vista) and service index. Would probably calm the Windows Search, and everything. NET-based. Experiment with the assurance that before any adverse change, you can undo the next reboot.

You can disable all functions that do not use, including Internet Explorer

Virtual Memory in Windows 7 may seem a most sensitive issue in earlier versions, but the truth is that not so well. I've seen on the network several statements in which he recommended letting the virtual memory under the control of the operating system, since it has a much more effective management some years ago. However, I take the audacity to disagree with that view, because although Windows may have improved their algorithm virtual memory allocation, which has not changed is the fact that dynamically still varies a great archive at the risk of fragmentation, and the last thing you need any Windows virtual memory is fragmented. For this reason, personally I still allocate virtual memory manually, with the same value at the minimum and maximum sizes, preventing spoilage. Windows 7 recommends 1.5 times the physical memory installed, but in some cases even a 1 to 1 configuration can be overstated. It is safest to start with a value of 1 to 1, then downsize and use the computer a few days and if no problems in sight, further reduce virtual memory until some detail appears. If you have more than 6 GB of RAM, you might even consider disabling virtual memory, beyond anything that Microsoft thinks of it. Another important detail: Set the virtual memory on the hard drive faster, and where possible, on another disk than the system.

Virtual memory should be static to avoid fragmentation and loss of performance

The Windows registry is the place where almost all the secrets stored on the operating system, and this has not changed in Windows 7. Since the number of times per second that the flashing cursor to the way it manages the physical memory, you may find a registry string referring to a value that can be set from the graphical environment. Not get bored of saying it, so I will mention it again: The Registry must have respect. Do not tremble at his presence, but not treat it as Notepad. The way you edit the Windows registry has not changed, so you can take a look at our article if you have any questions. What can change in Windows 7? Well, something that is personally active in SeparateProcess value HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ Advanced, changing its setting from 0 to 1. This value has many years on Windows platforms, and some even question their performance, but I used it a long time, and honestly I can not remember the last time I suffered a crash in Windows Explorer. Another edition of the registry that can be done involves adding some new keys, but its usefulness is worth the effort. Windows Updates If you have ever restarted your computer without your consent, then you need this. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Policies \ Microsoft \ Windows \, and once there create a key called "WindowsUpdate" (without the quotes). Log in to that key, and create another with the name "AU". Enter this key, and adds a 32-bit DWORD value named "NoAutoRebootWithLoggedOnUsers. Finally, assign a setting of 1. This will prevent Windows Update restart your computer when he pleases.

The record still has a role in the Windows installations

This adjustment can be useful for those who suffered at the hands of sudden restart Windows Update

The next step brings us once more to the Windows services. In Windows XP there were many. In Windows Vista multiplied. And without some added services for drivers and programs in Windows 7 Ultimate can count about 130 services, of which one third are usually activated. Unfortunately, Windows provides documentation about your services is inadequate, and when in doubt about a service, one of the best bets is still a Google search. However, the first stop for those who need to know more about a specific service should be a special section dedicated to services of Windows 7 which is available on the page BlackViper. Probably the biggest concern when disabling a service is to know which agency affected. Dependencies are other services they need at a given active service to function. For example, the Security Center service depends on the service Remote Procedure Call. In fact, a lot of services depends on Remote Procedure Call, which obviously means that if you turn off this critical service, send to your Windows installation nonstop to the orbit of Saturn. Advanced optimization services in Windows 7 requires broad knowledge of the hardware installed on your computer, of the critical needs that the computer must be filled, and above all things, a substantial amount of time. Determine what services can be turned off and which should remain running is somewhat cumbersome, but the more streamlined is the list of services will be more satisfying for the user. Do some examples to clear? SSDP Discovery, Spooler (if you have no printer) Windows Search (if the index does not interest you), Windows Defender (if you have another security solution), and even if you use a DHCP client for manual IP number to connect to your network.

You can disable several services of a default setting in Windows 7

An important function that we face in terms of performance under Windows 7 is nothing less than Aero. To function, the Aero desktop requires a specific hardware, which should not appear on desktop reverts to basic mode without transparencies and Windows 7. Many think that when you have Aero enabled, it takes full effect, but this is not true. You can keep the main Aero transparency, and remove some effects to make your system performance, such as fainting, displacement and animations within windows. You can even disable some special features like the Aero Snap, which resizes the windows are thrown sideways and into the top of the screen. The strangest part is that this option is located within the mouse settings, located in the Ease of Access section. There you must place a checkmark in the box that prevents the reorganization of the windows when placed at the edges of the screen. That's all.

Aero can be disabled completely, or receive some adjustments

The effects can be changed from the system properties, as in Vista

Another aspect that may affect the performance of Windows 7 is the power management. At this point we have to give to Windows Vista that opened up a whole new range of possibilities when customizing power management on our computers. For Windows 7 we can find the same variables, but we can not say that necessarily, the default is best. If the idea is to extract maximum performance from your computer, the "Balanced" is inadequate. Change it to "Maximum Performance" to push a little more to your computer. In laptops, the story is completely different, and just need to give priority to maximum performance when the system is connected to the mains. If energy plans that come by default in Windows 7 seem insufficient, you can create your taking the existing base.

The energy savings can make your system run slower

Finally, we make a stop on what is considered the biggest bottleneck in current computers: The hard drive. Solid state drives units are advancing faster and more accessible, but still the hard drive who prevails in most computers. Windows 7 has an internal option to disable the write cache purging, resulting in superior performance. However, before a sudden power failure, there is an increased risk of data loss. Personally, I have used this option for a long time, even for Windows Vista, and I have not had any problem so far. Well worth stealing a little more performance to our records, since our data anyway they are always running a risk (the computers are not infallible, and the hardware can be broken sooner or later). If you want to try this option should go to the properties of the disk in Device Manager. Click on the Policy tab, and make sure that both the option of higher performance as the two boxes at the bottom are checked. Restart the computer to apply changes.

Hard drives can get an extra bit of performance with these options

It's not what you would call a glamorous job, and we have published pictures prove it. Inserted between the gears of Windows 7 takes time, demands patience, and requires care, but if you do things right, the result is always the same: a better system than before. Alongside these optimzed and tricks, do not forget to carry out a good defrag, and keep updated the system drivers, two very important pillars to make your computer run at its maximum possible with Windows 7.

What is AppLocker? and How To Use AppLocker in Windows 7

To increase security on your computer, Microsoft has provided Windows 7 AppLocker function, a tool to block the execution of programs that they consider dangerous, suspicious or just not appropriate.

In addition, AppLocker lets you control and manage applications, libraries or scripts that other PC users are running, and it does a fairly simple, allowing us to create rules to allow or prevent the use or implementation of programs, adding attributes like the name application, signature of the manufacturer, etc.. well, if the program or application updates, will continue into the rule that we have created.

In short, AppLocker is a tool that will allow us to define the operation of certain programs and applications to specific users or groups.

Now, let's see an example of how to create a rule AppLocker Windows 7 before a program we do not want to run under a user other than us, which incidentally, provided we can only use or create these rules with administrator .

Block AppLocker programs in Windows 7

To access the AppLocker function, the first thing we do is access the local policy editor of Windows 7, and for this, we will:

Start menu> type gpedit.msc> Enter

Within the local policy editor, follow through left window the following route:

Computer Configuration> Windows Settings> Application Control Policy> Folder AppLocker

To create a rule we should go to the Introduction section. In it, there are three types of rules that we create:
  • Executable Rules
  • Windows Installer Rules
  • Scripts Rules
In this tutorial, we will see an example of rules for executable applications, although in future tutorials, we will look at other options, so tap on Rules executables.

To create a new rule of AppLocker in Windows 7, we right click and select Create new rule. On the menu, you can see as we have options to automatically generate rules (rules for a group of applications or users) and create default rules (pre-established).

When you click on create new Rule, it will run a wizard that will show information about the steps we should follow. So the first thing we have to select is the type of rule you want to establish.

AppLocker as we mentioned, you can define rules to allow executions to reject them. In our case and example, we want to refuse to execute a program or application to a specific user or group of them, so let's select Deny to prevent the execution of that application and then, we must choose the user who apply the rule.

Once this step, we must identify the program that we apply the rule. To do this, we can act in several ways:

We use the signature program editor by clicking the Editor to identify a particular program can modify the restriction of regulation to prohibit the execution of the program to new versions.

The path option allows the program to identify the file that contains it, ie it will show a file browser in which select the executable that launches the particular application.

File Hash option which allows us to identify a program with security code, ie executable brand uniquely, omitting the rule for new versions of the program.

Like any rule-making service in Windows 7 and earlier versions, the next step is to create a name and description of the rule created. This serves to ensure that in subsequent steps, we can quickly identify a specific rule if we have to modify, delete, etc..

Finally, AppLocker can see a list with the names of rules created in Windows 7, which by the way, we can delete, modify, etc.. clicking the right mouse button on any of them

How to Configure Wireless Network in Windows 7

The use of laptop and netbook computers in homes, has meant that users need a network infrastructure which is independent of the cable. To do this, we can use wireless devices via USB and configure a wireless network in Windows, so we can access the Internet from any room in the home or office.

To configure a wireless network in Windows 7, need to install the drivers from the wireless device and access the Windows Control Panel 7.

Ways to install the drivers
Once inside, we click on Network and shared resources, and finally, Connect to Network

At this point, see as shown in the bottom right of the desktop Windows 7, a number of available wireless networks, and must identify our own. Now click on connect, and immediately we ask an assistant network key access to our network.

Our password to authenticate, Windows 7 automatically connects your computer to the network, and therefore at this point where we can start surfing the Internet.

Panel Audio Realtek HD on Windows 7

For long time I was searching the net how to activate Front Panel Audio in Windows 7 but could not find anything, because the methods commonly used in XP or Vista did not work. I therefore encouraged to leave a small tutorial on how to do in case we have the Realtek chip. Now if we are to what it is: Although Windows 7 leaves us in many cases functional rear audio, you need to install the driver for our chip Realtek that we can download from here (not available for download in Google Chrome).

After installing the driver for going to lead us to the Control Panel> Hardware and Sound> Realtek Sound Manager. We will see the following panel:

Then go to "Configuring the connector" which can be found where indicated in the following image:

Then check the box "Disable the detection of the female connector on the front panel" select OK and ready!

We can use the front panel.

I remind you that this works in Windows 7 for XP or VISTA can change the procedure.

Tutorial Step by Step How to upgrade to Windows 7 from XP, Vista or RC

After much reading and reading about Windows 7, might decide to take the big step and update your operating system to the latest version of Microsoft. But where to start?

Step 1: Can I upgrade, or should I install from scratch?
First things first. Like most operating systems, Windows 7 presents two methods of installation: update we already have, or install from scratch.

This guide focuses on the current operating system update, but only from those who have Windows XP, Windows Vista, or the RC version of Windows 7.

What if I have it?

If you have another OS (like Linux) or are using a very old version of Windows, then you have to do a clean install, with the corresponding disk. Copy your files to a secure environment (such as external drives or DVDs) and follow the instructions of the disc to make a clean installation.

Step 2: What do I need?
Obviously, the update files in Windows 7. The can get either in hard disk (subject to availability of the country in which they are), or as a digital download from the Microsoft website.

Step 3: Backup.
No matter what operating system you are currently with any eventuality, but better safe than sorry. So either an external hard drive, some DVDs, or perhaps storage services in the cloud, better to copy our files and keep them safe. You know, just in case.

Step 4: Now yes, upgrade.
Upgrading from Windows XP
While many use Windows XP until this time by choice, it is likely that many others have this OS on a machine a little old. So before you go out and buy Windows 7, need to ensure that your computer supports it. How? Within minutes, the Windows Upgrade Advisor.

Once we know that our computer supports it, and we have the disk or the files in our power, not a bad idea to spend an antivirus to make sure no undesirable drag files to the new OS.

The first time I did install Windows 7 on a laptop with XP. Personally, I preferred to restore XP to zero before you upgrade to Windows 7. Doing so takes a little longer, but not so long ago that clean the equipment, worth it.

Ready? Then let's the important part. We run the installer (preferably with an Internet connection, in case you need to update something in the process), choose the Custom Install option, choose the partition on which we have XP, and we "Install".

Now they'll have some time to wait. Ideal for catching up with the reading of the college or see the last chapter of your favorite series.

When installation is complete, and at the new Windows 7, you should use Windows Explorer to find the old folder with your files, and move to the new location where you want them (the structure of "My Documents" is different in XP and Windows 7). It only takes a few moments.

We're almost ready. Do not forget to update the drivers (via Windows Update) to make everything work properly.

In the coming weeks, where they are already well established with Windows 7, they can run their favorite cleaning utility to complete remove traces of the old XP.

Done!

Upgrading from Windows Vista.

Like everything in Windows Vista, the update also has its turns. In the following cases should follow the same procedure as with XP:
  • If you plan to move to Vista 32-bit, 7 64-bit
  • If you want to go from Vista Home or Ultimate to 7 Professional
  • Vista Business or Ultimate to 7 Home
  • Vista Ultimate with all other non-Ultimate version of 7.
Is not this the case? Good. So now it is a bit easier.

With our installer running, choose the Upgrade option and the same program is responsible for leaving everything in order, including files and preferences. All you have to consider is that, if they use a fingerprint reader, save the master password as the system footprint forget.

We waited a while, and when ready, we can only update the drivers to keep things working smoothly.

Usually, to enjoy Windows 7.

Upgrading from Windows 7 RC.

Like we used before the final version did not have to pay for it, Microsoft did not love the idea that you upgrade. Technically, we should buy the full version, then it can make an "upgrade" as Windows XP.

Do not relish the idea? Me neither. Luckily we have a little hack in order to benefit directly the update.

First of all we have to buy the upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate (all versions since RC is Ultimate).

Then we have to find a particular file. For that, we will copy all files from the installation disk to hard disk (instead of installing directly from him). If you download an ISO version can access the files with the extractor Windows 7. Once we have the files available to us, we must go to the source folder and find the file cversion.ini. We opened it up and change the value of the line "MinClient" from 7233.0 to 7100. Save, close, and run setup.exe from the same folder as usual.

We're going to play around a while as the Wizard does it all, and when we return, we will have the system installed officially.

Congratulations! You are ready to start exploring all the functions and features of Windows 7. I recommend you a turn for all the posts that we respect, including:

Enable Stereo Mix in Windows 7

Well, I'm very keen to capture both images and video applications and especially the site where in theory "can not download or not without paying and I do not have a severe pos ... both Windows XP and Windows Having had a wonderful setting that lay in capturing "burn" all the sound that went through my PC, as bone was listening at that point and not the default sound capture the microphone. Then the other day, enjoying my wonderful Windows 7, I realized that it did not sound input "mixed estuary" and could not activate it by the media not normally used earlier, I was rather surprised that I quickly went to googling Ratej to see if one solution to my problem was and what was my surprise that did not seem to have a solution! :-O. According to internet sources implanted Windows 7-style copy protection DRM that prevented such use of my sound card, I could not believe the wonderful Windows 7 that until then I had worked 100% I had failed ...

I told myself that if it was by means ... "legal" would be by more piratilla, computer, call it what you want, but had to activate this function, needed her. So after reading a lot at very high hours of the morning, all I found was a phrase indicative that said, "look on page official Realtek drivers.

Do not occur to me until now everything worked perfect without updating drivers when I installed my Windows 7 solito install necessary drivers and I had not seen the need to look for me or update them, but this time I said Let's try.

Effectively locate the drivers for my sound card, download them, update and voila! appeared to me the happy option of "stereo mix" and the world smiles back to me, and I was relieved to think that it was a ploy by microsoft, but my carelessness for having no official drivers I guarantee all the possibilities of my hardware.

and here's the solution.

:: SOLUTION
  • Download official drivers for High Definition Audio Codecs from Realtek
  • Install the "setup.exe"
  • Restart the computer (not necessary but recommended)
  • open recording devices
  • Right-click in the white area and check "Show Disabled Devices"
  • You will see "stereo mix" and put pressure on him right post and then "activate"
  • Finally select the entry "stereo mix" and click on preset "default device"
  • And we have activated the recording of any sound passing through your PC.
As we see it is a drawback of Windows 7, if not a disadvantage of not using the drivers from the manufacturer and if the generators.

Install Windows 7 from USB (pendrive)

Microsoft allows users to download Windows 7 on netbooks removable memory drives or burn to DVD.

This is a new option available on the company's online store with which users can burn pen drives over 4 GB to run the installation directly.

"For users who do not have on your netbook a DVD optical drive, the download tool in Windows 7 for USB / DVD will get an ISO image and create a USB device auto-run, which may be used to install Windows 7," says Brandon Leblanc, spokesperson for the company's blog on Windows. Refers to WUDT tool that also allows you to burn the ISO to a DVD for a traditional installation.

WUDT works with computers that are currently running Windows XP or Vista. However, it should be borne in mind that to use this facility via a USB memory drive will be necessary to access the BIOS to change the primary boot drive.

Once launched the new operating system, Microsoft's goal is to expand their use as much as possible, both for consumer and professional users, more so given the rise of netbooks at the moment.

Windows XP Mode for Windows 7

Several months after having launched Windows 7, last month Microsoft released Windows XP Mode a virtual program that solves their problems of compatibility with applications that could not operate with Windows 7.

Perhaps to no desameritar to Windows 7 with a patch had the great idea to virtualize Windows XP on Windows 7. Either way this program came a little late, but the good news is that this program is free and can be downloaded from Microsoft's official website.

Download Acer 4520 Drivers for Windows 7

There is no doubt that when it went on sale Windows 7, more than one that had an Acer Aspire 4520 planned to install it on your laptop operating system.

For those who have migrated from Windows XP to Windows Vista, no problem because the drivers are freely available for both systems at Acer's page, and in this occasion for Windows 7 will not have problems because some did not I like Windows Vista, Windows 7 operating under the same drivers as Windows Vista. So you just need to have the updated drivers from the Windows Vista SP1, and install them on Windows 7. In particular page use the Acer Europe.

And the big question, and if you do not have drivers for Windows XP, Vista, Vista SP1, do not worry, download the following link:

Download Source: Home for Acer Aspire 4520 at http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/as_4520.html

[1] I recommend you download the drivers for Windows Vista SP1 on this page to you Windows 7.

If you have another model of laptop or desktop, and other brand products, you can download from the link below.

Source download: Acer Europe page for all models. http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/downloads.html

Personally when installing the system required only drivers for video card, Nvidia chipset, card reader and the touchpad for the proper function and the program of the camera (Acer Crystal Eye Cam), for the moment only those .

This is useful when you do a clean install (formatting the computer).

Although I personally use a Linux distribution, I must comment that so far (Win7) has some improvements and we will make the critical time.

Free Download Microsoft Security Essentials

Microsoft Security Essentials is having a great acceptance by users as evidenced by these facts:

535,000 computers that have reported statistics, Microsoft Security Essentials has recorded more than four million detections.

Other interesting facts are that 44% of users of Microsoft Security Essentials are already running Windows 7, followed by 33% using XP and 23% who use Windows Vista.

The lower rate of detections of MSE (16%) has been given under Windows 7 even though the operating system is mostly used by users of Microsoft's antivirus. While 52% use Windows XP and Windows Vista 32%.

A third of these computers are using Windows x64 and thank PachGuard are more resistant to malware.

That acceptance may be even greater to know to the latest test conducted by AV Comparatives, which gives the Advanced + rating in this free antivirus, outperforming the other free antivirus (Avira, Avast, AVG), situated next to payment and antivirus reputation as Norton, F-Secure and Kaspersky surpassing even the very ESET NOD 32. This comparison can be found here.

Also note that Microsoft Security Essentials has been with 2010 Norton antivirus scan only obtain the comparative brand as good or better than detection, removal and disposal of remains of malware is concerned.

Data from this comparative lack of surprise to catch as the predecessor of MSE: Windows Live OneCare and gave the surprise in the same test in May.

So Microsoft Security Essentials is a good alternative to antivirus payment. I personally use for months and have had no known problems.Microsoft Security Essentials is having a great acceptance by users as evidenced by these facts:
