Having a "Recovery Disc" on hand is always recommended as you never know when we will have problems with our operating system: Conflicts caused by an application, the unexpected visit of a malware or a faulty update from Windows itself (I have lived this unpleasant experience). If your edition of Windows 7 permits, to create our "Recovery Disc", you press Windows R, type recdisc.exe and press ENTER. This window appears:
